Prime Bowfishing Conditions in Lafitte’s Marshes
LaFitte Street Park - East Baton Rouge, LA
Bowfishing action in Lafitte has been heating up with the warmer spring nights, offering ideal visibility and active fish movement in the shallows. Water clarity has been favorable across the marshes, bayous, and backwater flats, giving bow anglers clear shots at some of the most sought-after species in the region.
Over the past week, Black Drum and Carp have been showing up in solid numbers, especially near grassy edges and mud flats during the late evening hours. Flounder sightings have also increased with the warming water temps, typically found around sandy bottoms and creek mouths. Gar are becoming more active as well, especially during calm, still nights. With more stable conditions ahead, expect bowfishing opportunities in Lafitte to continue improving. Now’s a great time to plan a trip and put some fish in the boat!
